In waltz time, brothers Loral and Ronnel Raphael – aka Sons of Raphael – from North West London deliver a fully-fledged modern epic in the shape of new single ‘A Nation of Bloodsuckers’. The video, directed by Loral with cinematography by Manuel Alberto Claro (Melancholia, Nymphomaniac), invites us to inhabit multiple-overwhelming realities. The brothers explain: “Here is a refusal to see violence and tenderness as binary, but painfully and tightly interwoven - just like the God we worship who could be both a warrior as well as a nurturing mother. Exploring the paradox of human faith, Sons of Raphael give us an unusual invitation to break out of false self-hood, with a yearning for authenticity.
