Shadow/Self
Laura Scrivano
Shadow/Self is a narrative dance film than uses movement, music, design and light to explore the idea of the "inner critic" - the paralysing self-doubt that can inhabit the darker side of the feminine psyche. Created almost entirely by a group of female artists, including award-winning fashion designer Bianca Spender, choreographer Samantha Chester, performers Geraldine Hakewill and Elizabeth Blackmore, and acclaimed singer Jane Tyrrell, the film was shot over just one day on Arri Alexa.
