The music video ‘Lung Space’ was written and directed by Sixteen:Nine founder Ana I. Parra. JLYY are the first band to take up residency on the 16:9 platform. The video was shot on both 16mm and digital film. It is set to the gritty backdrop of North London and explores contemporary English youth culture, as well as the parallel lines drawn between male and female sexes. The colourful aesthetic of the video accompanies the soulful sounds of front man Elliot, drummer Ben, and bass guitarist Sam. JLYY is a 3-piece London based band that are heavily visual in their sound - a Percussive, Shoe-gaze, Gospel, Hip-hop and Soul mash up. Sixteen:Nine was born from the desire to collaborate with emerging musicians and creatives on the London scene.
